  • To represent the European Optical Industry with other regional Optical Associations

Actions and topics

  • To develop and promote quality in the market, by acting on industry norms, EU Directives and Regulations (Medical Devices, Driving License,…), CE marking, Made In, Internet
  • To improve quality of life and eye health in Europe, by raising public awareness of the importance of eye examinations and UV protection
  • To promote regular "vision days" and organize professional advertising campaigns that emphasize the importance of maintaining good vision for overall well-being

Medical Devices Regulation

Regulation (EU) 2017/745 was ruled by the European Parliament and of the Council on April 5, 2017. It aims to regulate on the clinical investigation and sale of medical devices for human use. MDR came into force on May 15, 2017.
